Data2030 Summit MEA 2024

3d Edition

October 2024

About the Summit

Data 2030 Summit is an annual strategy event gathering the Data Management community in one place and platform to discuss ways of enabling faster Data Innovation and AI deployment across the enterprise by setting up a modern Data Management strategy and platform for the new decade.

For the past six years Data 2030 Summit has served as a remarkable knowledge-sharing and networking platform for data practitioners in the Nordics and Asia Pacific.

This third annual 2024 onsite edition of the event goes beyond these regions and extends its reach to the MEA Region as well.

2 Days │ 3 Stages │ 40 Speakers

With 20+ international speakers presenting across two days, panel discussions and plenty of other learning and networking activities, the 2024 MEA edition of the summit is the place to be for all CDOs and data practitioners working with Information Management, Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Enterprise Architecture and DataOps.

On stage, we are bringing some of the most forward-thinking Data Management practitioners of different positions and responsibilities in the department, from both the private and public sector in the MEA region, covering not only the most business critical Data Management challenges but as well the latest methodologies, strategies and tools used by organizations to address those challenges. The program is divided in three stages, each focusing on a specific topic.

Limited

To maintain the networking and knowledge-sharing experience, this round table summit is limited to a maximum of 200 on site participants. Speakers and exhibitors are carefully pre-qualified and selected to match the current regional market challenges, and provide outstanding content and insights relevant to the participants attending. The event has been sold out way in advance, in every one of the past 6 editions in any of the Europe, MEA and APAC Editions.

Topic Related Round Table Discussions

Along the presentations, we have reserved time for interactive roundtables. This is a good time for your voice to be heard, to share your ideas and your challenges, or to simply benchmark your strategy with your peers. The duration of the roundtables is 40 minutes and in English. After the first 40 minutes roundtable session, delegates will rotate and take their seat on another roundtable for another 45 minute session.

Need-to-know and Up-to-date Topics

The agenda is carefully designed to match the delegate community challenges and needs. Based on the last year’s feedback and our pre-event research, we have constructed the agenda that emulates the current market maturity, current project objectives, as well the aspiration for future technology insight.

Leading Technology Providers

Delegates attending the summit on-site will have the opportunity to visit the Exhibition Area and explore some of the most cutting-edge technologies and meet the best technology and service providers in the area. Some of them exhibiting for the first time in the MEA region. To make it more transparent and relevant for you, the demos presented during the summit will be listed in the agenda and on the event webpage.

Two Conference Day with
Three Stages

On this edition, during the conference days, delegates will have the opportunity to choose between three super insightful and interactive tracks focusing on Data Strategy, Data Governance and Quality and Enterprise and Cloud Architecture.

Networking program

In addition to extending the on-site part of the conference to three stages, we bring the event participants closer together through an informal event format. Once the conference day is finished, we are inviting the delegates to a networking program, starting with a cocktail reception..

Plenum

The keynote presentations are the pillars of the entire conference and the most memorable presentations of the event. As opening plenary talks, they set the tone of the entire conference, tie all themes together and provide excitement on the presentations that are about to come. This year’s keynote list includes visionaries and leading expert names in Data and Information Management.

Interactive Panels

Over the conference days, the delegates will have the opportunity to take part in several interactive panels composed by practitioners and experts. The panels will cover several important topics covering everything from strategy to people, implementation, processes, and technology. The panelists invited are experts and practitioners in the area representing companies in the Nordic region and beyond. All panels are in duration of 40 minutes and in English.

Data governance foundation to enable proper data use: Interview with Ole Busk Poulsen
What I’ve learnt from cloudifying Electrolux: Interview with Kaveh Djavaherian

The first tenet for successful cloud implementation is respecting the organization’s history, culture, way of working and people. Of course, robust cloud architecture that offers uninterrupted access to data and applications is a must, but your efforts will be in vain if you don’t have the support of the right people and network of allies. These are some of the crucial learnings Kaveh Djavaherian, Head of Global Cloud & Hosting at Electrolux, underlined from his ample experience with executing cloud strategies and infrastructure management. Kaveh Djavaherian revealed his valuable insights gained through leading cloud implementation in Electrolux and other organizations. More to come during his Data 2030 Summit presentation in February.

What is Data Mesh? And should you mesh it up too?

Data Mesh is one of the hottest topics in data analytics at the moment. It has found its way into the trends that are predicted to disrupt and dominate the data market in 2021.

But what exactly is Data Mesh and why more and more companies are looking to implement the latest trend in the data industry?

In the age of data as a first-class citizen, every enterprise strives to be data-driven, pouring hefty investments into data platforms and enablers. However, the ever-growing data demands are no match for the traditional data warehouse or data lake with limited real-time streaming capabilities.

Data and analytics maturity in the energy industry: Interview with Mikko Muurinen
Data management trends that experts forecast for 2021 and beyond

The past tumultuous year saw many organisations caught up in a cloud frenzy, heavily investing in data lakes and data warehouses to get the most out of their precious data in a more flexible, scalable and efficient way. But despite the investments, we saw the data management was still a big challenge for companies in 2020. The majority of them still struggled with legacy systems, lack of domain-specific skills, lack of clearly defined data governance policies and poor data quality, preventing them from thriving in their data and AI innovations. It was clear that the new circumstances required enterprises to review their data management strategies and design platforms to support their AI-driven ambitions.

Why roundtable events give you more bang for your buck
Ingrain fact-based decision making into your company DNA: Interview with Laila Kakar

Data-driven or fact-based decisions have a great many possibilities and benefits to transform the business. But the most important step is to turn the insights into actions, because facts without action demonstrate the mechanism of memory, but not that of understanding, explains Laila Kakar, Senior Manager at MTN (GSSC).
We’ll hear Laila Kakar at the Data 2030 Summit in her session on How to measure the unmeasurable – translating SMART data into insights, where she’ll tell you more about how to start making fact-based decisions and how machine learning can support you in your decisions.
